A new EV hits the road to commute!

T3 Motion, based in California, recently unveiled a new NEV called the CT3. The CT3 is classified as a neighborhood electric vehicle or NEV and sports a three wheeled trike configuration.

The CT3 is targeted towards consumers in need of around town transportation. It sports a top speed of 45 mph and a gasoline equivalent of over 100 miles per gallon. The vehicle is features three wheel drive and a full front and rear suspension setup.

Its compact dimensions make it ideal for a daily runabout and its available features distinguish it from many other NEV. The CT3 is equipped with hydraulic brakes, an aluminum frame, good ride quality, and distinctive styling. Many NEVs fit the mold of golf cart like in both looks and standard equipment levels, but the CT3 is easily distinguishable as much more than a golf cart.

T3 Motion has not unveiled a release date or set a price for the CT3 yet, but will be preparing a sport version for the upcoming race the Progressive Automotive X Prize in the Alternative Class. The version entered in the race is capable of speeds up to 80 mph. According to the company, they have over 3,000 field hot swap able lithium polymer batteries in use and more than 1,200 EVs in service since 2006. Their newest entry, the CT3 build on their lineup of LSV and NEV type vehicles which includes the CT Micro Car, and the T3 Series Electric Stand Up Vehicle.
